1. Social Distortion - Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes.
I know your first thought, is Social D? I know what they sound like... no you don't. Buy this record, it's maybe their best record yet. It shows growth and the songs are great.
2. Dave Hause - Dave's got a new record coming out this month from Paper and Plastic. This is the best group of songs I've heard in a long long time. Treat Yourself.
3. Cold War Kids - Next week you can have your minds blown, or you can miss out. Your choice. Just buy the record.
There's some more out there as well, I love the Phoenix record, the Black Keys album Brothers is great, I heard the new Cage The Elephant single and that was awesome, also there's a great punk band called Red City Radio, that's a great band. Love it or learn to love it.

Glad I read this. Just got the two Red City Radio EP's on iTunes. They are awesome! Great band!

ReplyDeleteContinue with the suggestions! I'm always thirsty for new stuff, especially when it comes to getting through the winter. Gotta make it to spring; road trip from Chicago to NJ for you guys!

ReplyDeleteSome really prime listening choices! I've been playing Social D's 'Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes', Dave's "Resolutions', and Cage The Elephants 'Thank You Happy Birthday' as soon as I they were available (been keeping me rolling through the rougher days along w/GSA). My younger brother suggested Cold War Kids before, but I wasn't sure to give them a shot or not; thanks for helping on the choice to check 'em out! Gotta check out the rest of the bands you mentioned, especially since I've gotten so many awesome new bands from your reccomendations in the past.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for spreading the love and the good tunes sir! Keep making us Jersey folk proud!

Matt
